NEW ALBANY — Wilmington College is in seventh place after first-round play in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship at New Albany Country Club Thursday.
The Quakers shot an opening-round 348. Otterbein leads the nine-team event after shooting 327 on Thursday.
For Wilmington, Chris Oakes (Xenia) shot an 83, the sixth-lowest round in the field on Thursday. Evan Houdieshell (Englewood/Northmont) was a stroke behind at 84.
Justin Martin (Wilmington) carded a 90 and Drew Balser (Hillsboro) shot 91. Also playing for Wilmington was Billy Braselton (Batavia), who opened with a 93.
