Kin tabbed preseason All-AmericanWC senior on DIII News' squad10/19/09
Wilmington College senior post Kortney Kin has been named to the 24-player Women’s DIII News Preseason All-America Team. The monthly newsletter also tabbed Kin as the Preseason Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
Kin (Upper Sandusky/Riverdale) is coming off one of the most impressive seasons in team history. As a junior, Kin led the OAC with a 21.1 points-per-game scoring average and ranked second in the conference with 8.4 rebounds per contest. Kin finished the 2008-09 season with 572 points, the third-highest single-season total in team history. She has scored 1,042 career points. The preseason honor increases Kin’s already-impressive resume’. At the conclusion of last season she was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association State Farm All-America Team and the Women’s DIII News All-America Team. She also was named All-Great Lakes Region by d3hoops.com. Kin is the 11th player in team history to receive All-America honors. Kin and the Lady Quakers will open the season against Rose-Hulman in the first-round of the Wilmington Tip-Off Tournament Nov. 20.
