Kin named OAC Player of the WeekSenior averaged 25 points, 5.5 boards in pair of wins02/01/10
AUSTINTOWN — Wilmington College senior post Kortney Kin has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Kin (Upper Sandusky/Riverdale) averaged 25 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as Wilmington picked up OAC wins over Muskingum and No. 22 Mount Union last week. For the season, Kin is averaging 20.2 points and 7 rebounds per game. She has scored 20 or more points in five straight games and eight of the last nine. “Kortney has been playing better and better as the season has progressed,” Wilmington head coach Jerry Scheve said. “Even though she is scoring more points recently, I think her biggest improvement has been defensively and rebounding and passing the basketball. She’s doing a little bit of everything for us, and her teammates are doing their jobs as well by getting her the ball where she can score.” The OAC Player of the Week honor is the second for Kin in the past three weeks.
