ADA — Wilmington College dropped a doubleheader to Ohio Athletic Conference regular season champion Ohio Northern Sunday afternoon.
The 10-0, 10-2 losses end Wilmington’s OAC season at 0-18. The Quakers are 7-25 overall. Ohio Northern improves to 16-2 in the conference, 32-3 for the season.
The Polar Bears did all of their damage early in game one, scoring three runs in the first inning and seven in the third.
Wilmington managed two hits — singles by Chelsea Morrow (South Vienna/Northeastern) and Kylie Ford (South Vienna/Northeastern).
Wilmington opened game two with a pair of first-inning runs. Holly Sheets (Richwood/North Union) picked up an RBI on a groundout and Ford contributed a run-scoring single.
Ohio Northern cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom of the first and added four more in the second. The 5-2 score stayed on the board until ONU scored five runs in the fourth to blow things wide open.
