Wilmington College will be hosting some of the top softball players in the Midwest when the Ohio Fast-pitch Connection Heatin' It Up ASA Eastern National Qualifier comes to town this weekend.

Games will be played at the WC Softball Complex and J.W. Denver Williams Jr. Memorial Park in Wilmington.

Members of the WC softball team joined the squad's coaching staff on Friday to get the diamond ready for action, which starts at 4:55 p.m.

"We are really excited about having the opportunity to host this tournament," Wilmington head coach Beth Floyd said. "There are some outstanding players and teams in this tournament. We are also excited to give them the opportunity to play at a collegiate facility."

On Saturday, games at both locations are slated to begin at 8 a.m., with the final games slated for 9 p.m. starts. Sunday's games will begin at 8 a.m. with the finals slated for 5:15 p.m. starts.
